Problems with being a vegetarian???

1. You aren't getting certain nutrients, particularly protein.

Fact: The average woman needs 46 grams of protein a day, and a one-cup serving of chickpeas gets you about a third of the way there. Problems creep up when you let simple carbs (white bread), sugars, and trans fats crowd out healthier choices. Nutritional advisers suggest: Focus on eating whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables and you'll get everything you need—including protein.  In fact, vegetarian diets tend to have higher levels of fiber, magnesium, potassium, vitamins C and E , folate, carotenoids, flavonoids, and other phytochemicals.
2. It's a boring & repetitive, carb-rich diet.
Fact: Because they have to plan more carefully,  many vegetarians eat a wider variety of foods than their carnivore counterparts. Plan meals from the full spectrum of the food rainbow—veggies, fruits, grains, legumes, and nuts—and you'll never be bored
3. Veggie dishes tend to be high in carb & fat.
Fact: In restaurants  large amounts of flour were used to make ‘fake meat’ . These days, many flavorful ethnic cuisines deliver bold vegetarian flavors  via herbs and spices—and with far less fat, & carb. Besides you don’t have to order those “fake meat dishes”
5. You never really feel full.
Fact: If you're eating plenty of plant foods, you're loading up on fiber, the stuff that fills your belly and stifles the need to nosh soon after eating. And again, consuming legumes gives you enough hunger-satisfying protein.

Argument against Vegetarian!!!

If you mention you want to be or you are a vegetarian, it’ll  trigger an automatic anti-vegetable defense system in some people. I don't know why the idea of a vegetarian diet is offensive, but most vegetarians would agree with me that some people simply will not pass up an opportunity to start an argument against vegetarianism. Ok I’m not totally turning into a full pledge veg ….

But it sure is  frustrating with  some  of these arguments, which are so ridiculous- it’s hilarious!!!!!
This one I’ve just heard from my bestie!!!!
Plants can feel too, you know.
She argue that plants are able to feel pain and emotion too, so I'm being a hypocrite by torturing poor little bean spouts!!!!  Is this argument even sound ?  True is  Plants have no central nervous system, and most scientists agree that plants don't think or feel pain, although they do respond to stimuli. That being said, many vegetarians agree that the purposeless killing of anything is wrong, and that includes plants.
What about  nutrition??? You might not get enough from veg!
In all fairness, this argument  is somewhat understandable because of the long-standing human belief that meat is essential for a good diet. In reality, meat-based diets are slowly becoming obsolete as researchers are uncovering how vegetarianism is a much healthier option.
Lots of people are suffering, don’t you think we should worry abt them first before animals????
Fact is a vegetarian diet consumes no more time, money, or effort than a meat-based diet. I realized this argument was just an excuse, since being a vegetarian has no effect on how much you can help other humans. For example, I would never deny help to an old lady crossing the street just because there are starving children in Africa!
I have heard plenty of arguments against vegetarianism since I’m “thinking of” changing my diet. Some are understandable while others are completely ridiculous. Until now, I have yet to hear a single good reason for the average person not to consume a vegetarian diet.

Ever thought of going vegetarian?

Those who pursue it  are usually motivated by ethics  (e.g. not wanting animals to suffer) , the environment, or by health reasons (e.g. to increase longevity and vitality, as exemplified in studies of cultures that regularly consume fewer animal products).

Plus  there’s a lot of evidence that a diet heavy in meat and dairy (especially non-organic) is connected to a wide range of diseases, including heart disease, stroke, cancer & other popular diseases.
For many concerned about the state of the environment, a vegan diet, which uses fewer resources, just makes sense. There is a ton of evidence from all kinds of researchers that agriculture and food production, particularly in animal agriculture, is the number one cause of climate change. It’s far worse than driving a car or having incandescent light bulbs.

So every time we have a meal, we can choose not to have meat that came from a factory farm, or to have local, organic tofu instead of chicken. They’re really easy changes to make.

For some, however, the appeal of a vegan diet is the promise of weight loss. Haha… & that will be  ME!!!!!!

Believe me, I'll love to sink my teeth into all those food... but my weight is down & I'm looking my best in years... so how can I risk it for buffets???? Best to bury myself in work & forget abt celebrating. Maybe I'll just drink myself silly & forget about food...hahhaha.....

I like the way my face turn radiant immediately after the jab.
I look healithier these days because of it.
My Boss thought I'm in love or something because I "look" different" ....lol.....
So funny!
Ginnie went with me & was fascinated by how fast the procedure is & also how the radiance came out.....

Environment for weight loss

There's a study on people who managed to lose weight & keep it off . The study found that besides the obvious more mindful eating habits, the environment seems to play a part! It was found that  their homes had the following characteristics;

1. the presence of activity equipment
2. little to no high fat food
3.Fewer TVs or non at all.
Guess cultivating an environment that helps maintain your weight loss is as important as shedding the weight in the first place.

Sigh.... window shopping lor....  walk off the fats...hhhaha.... Oh when walking I make sure it's under the shades- or best indoors, in the malls-  no direct sun on my lovely skin....lol...

Oh did the maintenance jab too, so no sun!!!!! Loving it.

Thank Goodness the Whitening jab works for me!!! Yay!!

I've finish all my jabs now, haha too lazy to blog abt them.
This month has too many holidays.... I'm getting a bit lazy!!!!!

I see a slight change in my legs & hands/arms now.
I Think it's getting fairer, just a little.
But it's interesting.
My friends came over to my place to "examine" me......lol.....

Under close scrutiny, they all agree there's a slight change & all agree it's faster than using lightening creams.
What's good here is, the whole body gets it!
I love for my legs to get fairer, it's so much nicer when I put on shorts!!!
My hands also takes on a lighter tone.
My face ....hmmmm.... I feel it's not fair enough.....hahhaa......
Well it's no miracle..... I cant expect MJ whiteness with just $ 1000- !!!! hahhaa......

My friends all "claim" to be interested now.
They are the usual "watchers", the "side-liners" people who watches from the side and NEVER do anything!!!! we'll see if they really do it.
Anyway I dont care, at least they are supportive of this!
Can you imagine having a bunch of friends who only give negative feedbacks?
Sigh.... that'll be so sad!

So what's next???
I dont know.... I'll probably do the maintenace jab, that's once a month  & see how...

Finally tried the Vitamin C whitening injection

6/7/2012 (1st jab)

Made appointment to see Dr Keith at night after work.
My friend had wanted to come along but I didnt let her.
She make too many comments & I dont need that now.
Dr was patient & explained .... I was surprise the jab was so fast & no pain.
I feel the cooling sensation some bloggers have experienced it's quite unusual & pleasant.
I feel ok. I think I look brighter, more radiant...haha.... I got the package.

2/8/2012 (2nd jab)

No time to blog. Busy through the week, didnt have time to think much of the jab.
I didnt look much different after the first jab.
I'll just need to be patient I guess.
Same old same old... Had the jab, this time I think my face does look brighter than before..
Dr warned me that if expectations are too high, I'll be disappointed, & I have to combine this with some discipline as to stay out of the sun ,put sun block etc etc....
Got it!

I went out & ask the nurses outside how I looked , they cheerfully said "wonderful, fairer!!!" haha... abit of marketing there, I should know, I'm the expert!... patience...

Today

At work, a girl from another department came to see me for something, what she said to me makes my day!
She went like.." what happen to you huh? you look different... since when you are so fair!!!!!" Seriously... am I?
I cant believe what she said!!!!!
I thought I look the same!
Maybe the doctor is right, my expectations is preventing me from seeing the change!
Welll i'm loving it now!!!
One thing for sure I cant trust my own eyes anymore!!!

Panbesy vs Duromine. Which is more effective for weight loss?

Finally went to the doctor, got myself a month's supply of Panbesy.
First day: no cravings of any kind. I don't feel hungry during lunch or dinner !
It's awesome ,kinda weird too :))
I did eat a little though.
Feel very thirsty, so drink lots of water.
Don't feel tired at all....GREAT!!!!

Now the question of Panbesy Vs Duromine. Which is better or  more effective for weight loss? I heard they both do the same thing- as in, work the same way. Since my sister had good results from Panbesy, I told doc I wanted Panbesy. I figured I can always go back for some Duromine, just in case.

Some of you has requested for the clinic's opening hrs, here it is, hope that helps:)

All trimmed up & looking dangerously sexy & glorious, ready to break a few hearts...lol....
